This joint symposium aims to strengthen the strategic collaboration between the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) and the University of Liverpool (UoL). 

The event is organised around five core research themes: (i) Climate, (ii) Biodiversity, (iii) Hazards and Pollution, (iv) Sustainable Marine Economy, and (v) Polar Regions. 

On the first day, the programme will feature a series of short talks focusing on these themes, followed by the Proudman Lecture Award keynote presentation and an evening reception. 

The second day will focus on a panel discussion regarding the current funding landscape, and a working-group exercise designed to identify strengths and future opportunities for NOC–UoL collaborations within these priority areas.
